Tastes of Christmas
On December 13, we hosted our Tastes of Christmas event that featured traditional holiday flavors from England, Mexico, Italy and America. Residents and guests enjoyed a savory and a dessert dish from each country.
England featured beef wellington and bread pudding. Mexico featured handmade tamales and sweet cream churros. Italy featured lasagna, garlic bread and tiramisu, followed by America which featured Cornish hens and candy cane pie. All dishes and desserts were delicious culinary creations from our chefs.
Giving Back at Christmas
In keeping with the holiday spirit, earlier in the month, we collected several boxes of brand new shoes for children in need in Northwest Indiana, as well collecting gifts for seniors in our community through Be a Santa to a Senior, a program orchestrated by Home Instead Senior Care.
To top off the month with holiday cheer, we raffled off a beautifully decorated tree with $1,000 of gift cards to raise monies for the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana. We are thrilled to have raised over $2,000 for these wonderful organizations!
