Residences Senior Living is proud to announce our very own Treasa Chambers has been honored with the Indiana Assisted Living Association (INALA) 2017 Caregiver of the Year Award.
Nurturing the Spirit of Residents
Treasa, a dedicated midnight supervisor at Residences Deer Creek, has more than 23 years of experience in the nursing field. Her passion has always been providing care to seniors and memory care residents. Treasa’s excellent work ethic and understanding of senior living helps reinforce our high-quality standards and ensures they are carried out 24/7.
INALA receives multiple nominations from assisted living communities who nominate hard-working employees that enrich the daily lives of their residents. Nominees are selected based on criteria set forth by INALA.
Caregiver of the Year is awarded to employees who:
- nurture the spirit of each resident
- treat each resident with dignity and respect
- promote the individuality of each resident
- provide a safe environment
- allow each resident a choice of care and lifestyle
- make residents’ assisted living experience a valuable community asset
Tresas is all of these things and more. She assists in developing training programs to help other staff, participates as an instructor in the Skills Bootcamp Training and helps where she is needed.
It is very important that we continue to focus on attracting and developing great nurses like Treasa who have the heart and compassion for our residents.
Investing in Knowledge for Future Growth
Equally as important is continued education and training for our team members so we can serve as a beneficial resource to our residents, families and our community.
Director of Resident Services, Loveta Lee, recently went through an intensive educational workshop and received her designation as a CADDCTⓇ (Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care TrainerⓇ). This will allow Loveta to train our care team and other team members to become Certified Dementia Practitioners in addition to providing us with valuable resources for our residents with dementia.
