Residences at Deer Creek celebrated their first annual Gorgeous Grandma Day! The national holiday is an opportunity to treat the special ladies in our lives to a day of luxury and appreciation.
“We wanted all of our amazing ladies here to have a day of fun, so we invited our residents, whether or not they were actually grandmas, just to celebrate themselves as the gorgeous people they are inside,” said Karen Faloona, Director of Life Enrichment at Residences at Deer Creek.
The ladies were welcomed by delightfully feminine décor, soothing spa music and treated to pink punch, light snacks and desserts, including a floral photo-shoot backdrop that would dazzle any runway. If the ladies chose, they were the recipient of manicures and makeovers, courtesy of local Walgreens cosmetics staff.
One resident, Betty Burks, enjoyed getting a glamourous makeover that included a full face of makeup and red lips.
“I really enjoyed today! I typically don’t wear makeup, so it was nice to have my face done up,” said Burks. “My mother didn’t wear makeup when I was growing up, so I never wore much, either. I think you tend to take after what your mother does when it comes to that.”
